[2020] LOST ORIGINS

Lost Origins goes beyond designing a standard deck of cards.

Each suit draws from a culture with a long-standing history of card play, informed by research into both the origins of card games and their cognitive and social benefits. The result: a deck that not only functions as a game but reflects the cultural legacy and mental engagement that has kept card games relevant across centuries.

Research shows card games are cognitively valuable because they engage multiple executive and perceptual systems simultaneously, often under time pressure and social constraints. Unlike many solitary puzzles, they combine probability, memory, strategy, and interpersonal cognition in a single activity.

Card games offer people of all ages a form of cognitive development, engagement or maintenance.
